Our Story
How FinAccess began and grew to serve Africa's agricultural cooperatives
Founded in 2018, FinAccess began by digitizing Savings and Credit Cooperative Organizations (SACCOs) to streamline financial operations and improve efficiency for cooperatives across Africa. Recognizing the broader needs of the agricultural sector, we expanded our focus to comprehensive cooperative management solutions.
In 2022, we expanded our offerings to include comprehensive financial services platforms, providing credit, savings, and insurance products for farmers. Then in 2024, we partnered with Agricentric Carbon Initiative to bring carbon credit opportunities to agricultural cooperatives. This innovative program allows cooperatives to earn additional revenue while contributing to climate action through sustainable farming practices.
By 2025, we achieved significant scale by reaching over 100 cooperatives across Africa, collectiong millions of kilograms of agricultural produce annually and generating significant carbon revenue for our partners.
